MARCH 3, 2019<\/strong> \u2013 Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.)<\/strong> said today on Meet the Press <\/em>that \u201cthere’s no one that could factually say\nthere’s not plenty of evidence of collaboration or communications between Trump\nOrganization and Russians.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence\nCommittee told moderator Chuck Todd, \u201cMr. Trump knew about the dump of\nthe WikiLeaks material, the fact that clearly the meeting at Trump Tower, meeting\nwhich was not described appropriately in terms of offering dirt, the president’s\ncampaign manager sharing information, polling information with the Russians.\nThe earlier instance where Russians were offering through one of the campaigns\u2019\nPapadopoulos information. To me, that’s all evidence.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When asked about Michael Cohen\u2019s recent\nclosed-door testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee, Sen. Warner\nsaid that while some of the \u201ctawdry and inappropriate behavior\u201d and \u201csome of\nthe payoffs\u201d came up, the focus of their investigation is on \u201ccounterintelligence,\nwhat happened in 2016,\u201d and \u201cwhat level of collaboration and collusion.\u201d He also\nsaid Michael Cohen does not have a lot of \u201cveracity\u201d and that \u201cwe need to get\ndocuments, we are receiving additional documents from him to prove or disprove.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sen. Warner also\nadded, \u201cI have never in my lifetime seen a presidential campaign from a person\nof either party have this much outreach to a foreign country, and a foreign\ncountry that the intelligence community and our committee has validated,\nintervened massively in our election and intervened with an attempt to help one\ncandidate, Donald Trump, and to hurt another candidate, Hillary Clinton.\u201d Watch\nthe <\/strong>full\ninterview<\/a><\/strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rep. Jim\nJordan (R-Ohio), <\/strong>ranking member of the House\nOversight Committee, also joined the program for an exclusive interview and\ntold Chuck Todd, \u201cI don’t think the president’s lied about Russia at all.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When asked if he believes that Russia\ninterfered in the 2016 election, Rep. Jordan said, \u201cYeah, I mean of course,\nthat’s what the intelligence community has told us,\u201d but stopped short of\nsaying they tried to help Donald Trump win: \u201cWho knows why they did it?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rep. Jordan also added, \u201cThe president’s\nsurrounded himself with some people that, maybe, he shouldn’t. I don’t know.\nBut when he was running this campaign, Mr. Manafort was there, was part of the\ncampaign. Mr. Manafort had been involved with Republican politics before. Why\nhe selected him, I don’t know.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rep. Jordan also said that he is \u201cnot\nquestioning or interfering\u201d with Robert Mueller\u2019s investigation. \u201cI want it to\nconclude, I want it over with \u2026 And then the attorney general, Bill\nBarr, will decide, will follow the law and release what he wants to release or\nmaybe release the whole thing. Republican pollster Bill\nMcInturff<\/strong> of Public Opinion Strategies and Democratic pollster Fred Yang<\/strong> of Garin Hart Yang Research\nGroup joined the program to discuss the latest NBC\nNews\/Wall Street Journal poll<\/a>. The poll found 46 percent of Americans approve of President Trump\u2019s job\nperformance, up three points from January, and 52 percent disapprove. In\naddition, 41 percent of registered voters said they would \u201cdefinitely\u201d or\n\u201cprobably\u201d vote for Trump in 2020, versus 48 percent who said they would\n\u201cdefinitely\u201d or \u201cprobably\u201d vote for the Democratic candidate.
