AUGUST 19, 2018 \u2013\u00a0\u201cTruth isn\u2019t truth,\u201d<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0Rudy Giuliani<\/strong>, lawyer for President Donald Trump, tells \u201cMeet the Press\u201d moderator Chuck Todd this morning in a discussion of the president possibly testifying to special counsel Robert Mueller.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am not going to be rushed into having him testify so that he gets trapped into perjury,\u201d says Giuliani. \u201cAnd when you tell me that, you know, he should testify because he\u2019s going to tell the truth and he shouldn\u2019t worry, well that\u2019s so silly because it\u2019s somebody\u2019s version of the truth. Not the truth.\u201d When Todd replies, \u201cTruth is truth,\u201d Giuliani responds, \u201cNo, it isn\u2019t truth. Truth isn\u2019t truth. \u2026 Donald Trump says I didn\u2019t talk about Flynn with Comey. Comey says you did talk about it, so tell me what the truth is.\u201d<\/p>\n

Giuliani also shares the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting \u201cwas originally for the purpose of getting information about Clinton,\u201d adding that Trump \u201cdidn\u2019t know about that meeting. He found out about it after and by the time he found out about it, it was nothing.\u201d\u00a0Watch the full interview.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cI stand very much by\u201d calling the president\u2019s behavior treasonous, says former CIA Director\u00a0John Brennan<\/strong>, also a senior national security and intelligence analyst for NBC News.<\/p>\n

Brennan tells Todd he has \u201cbeen contacted by a number of lawyers, and they have already given me their thoughts about the basis for a complaint, an injunction to try and prevent him from doing this in the future.\u201d He also says, \u201cI admire and respect Gina Haspel, and I want her to stay as C.I.A. Director because I think it’s important that the institution of the C.I.A. and the professionals be protected from this very, very abusive White House and Mr. Trump.\u201d\u00a0Watch the full interview.<\/a><\/p>\n
