#1 Most Watched Season-to-Date in Key Demo<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Broadcast Grows Week-Over-Week Across The Board <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

AUGUST 7, 2018 \u2013 \u201cNBC Nightly News with Lester Holt\u201d is the #1 most-watched evening broadcast in the key news demo for the week of July 30, according to Nielsen Media Research data. \u201cNightly News\u201d continues as the #1 most-watched evening newscast season-to-date in the key demo, delivering its largest demo lead over CBS in six seasons.<\/p>\n

The broadcast continues its strong performance in the key demo, growing week-over-week and averaging 1.6 million A25-54 viewers. The broadcast bested \u201cABC World News Tonight\u201d by +62,000 viewers (+4%) and \u201cCBS Evening News\u201d by +498,000 viewers (+46%). \u201cNightly News\u201d was the only broadcast to grow week-over-week across the board.<\/p>\n

As part of his ongoing reporting on criminal justice reform, last week Holt spoke with Eric Riddick, a prisoner in Philadelphia serving a life sentence for a crime many believe he did not commit. Holt was introduced to Riddick\u2019s story by rapper Meek Mill, who met Riddick during his time in the same prison. Mill spoke exclusively to Holt about his own struggles with the criminal justice system earlier this summer.<\/p>\n

For the week of July 30, \u201cNightly News\u201d is the most-watched broadcast among A18-49 viewers, averaging 1.1 million and topping ABC by +11,000 viewers (+1%) and CBS by +280,000 viewers (+36%).<\/p>\n

7.4 million total viewers tuned in to \u201cNightly News\u201d for the week of July 30, leading \u201cCBS Evening News\u201d by 1.8 million total viewers (+33%).<\/p>\n

For the week of July 30, \u201cNightly News\u201d rated for four nights (July 30, July 31, Aug. 1, Aug. 3) due to NFL pre-season football.<\/p>\n
