#1 in Key Demo for 36 of the last 37 Months<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

#1 Most Watched Season-to-Date in Key Demo <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

July 31, 2018 \u2013 \u201cNBC Nightly News with Lester Holt\u201d is the #1 most-watched broadcast in the key demo for the month of July, winning 36 of the last 37 months, according to Nielsen Media Research data.<\/p>\n

The broadcast averaged 1.6 million A25-54 viewers this past month, beating \u201cABC World News Tonight\u201d by +14,000 viewers (+1%) and \u201cCBS Evening News\u201d by +47,000 viewers (+44%).<\/p>\n

Last month, Holt interviewed FBI Director Wray at the Aspen Security Forum and made headlines when the director implied he had considered resigning, saying: \u201cI\u2019m a low-key, understated guy, but that should not be mistaken for what my spine is made out of. I\u2019ll just leave it at that.\u201d Watch here<\/a>. Days before, Holt led NBC News\u2019 coverage of President Trump\u2019s first trip to the United Kingdom from London, and the president\u2019s summit with President Putin from Helsinki.<\/p>\n

Last week, Holt spoke to Philadelphia Eagle Malcolm Jenkins about the unresolved debate over athletes protesting social issues during the national anthem. July began with Holt\u2019s trip to ESSENCE Festival in New Orleans, where he discussed criminal justice reform with rappers Meek Mill and Remy Ma.<\/p>\n

In July, \u201cNightly News\u201d averaged 1.1 million A18-49 viewers, topping ABC by +4,000 viewers (+0.4%) and CBS by +315,000 viewers (+42%). The broadcast has won the A18-49 demo for 37 of the past 39\u00a0months.<\/p>\n

7.3 million viewers tuned in to \u201cNightly News\u201d for the month of July 2018, +1.8 million total viewers (+32%) more than \u201cCBS Evening News.<\/p>\n

\u201cNightly News\u201d continues as the #1 most-watched evening newscast season-to-date in the key demo, delivering its largest demo lead over CBS in seven seasons.<\/p>\n
