JULY 30, 2017 — When it comes to the Affordable Care Act, \u201cour job is to follow the law of the land,\u201d<\/a> Health and Human Services Sec. Tom Price<\/strong> told \u201cMeet the Press\u201d moderator this morning, adding that \u201cthe current law right now is failing the American people.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also called on Congress \u201cto go home and talk to their constituents\u201d about health care and renewed the call to \u201crepeal and replace\u201d the ACA. Watch the full interview.<\/a><\/p>\n

Senator Susan Collins (R-Maine),<\/strong> one of the three GOP senators to vote down the \u201cskinny repeal\u201d of the ACA this week, said that, when it comes to health care, \u201c<\/strong>most of the input that I\u2019ve had from the White House has been from the vice president and from the administrator of the Medicare and Medicaid programs.\u201d<\/p>\n

She expanded on a hot-mic moment<\/a> she had with Sen. Jack Reed (D-R.I.), in which she said \u201cI\u2019m worried\u201d in response to him appearing to call President Trump \u201ccrazy\u201d: \u201cActually what I was talking about is the president\u2019s budget.\u201d<\/p>\n

Collins reacted to DHS Sec. John Kelly\u2019s new role as White House Chief of Staff, noting that he\u2019ll \u201cdo a good job\u201d and \u201cbring some order and discipline to the West Wing.\u201d She also responded to speculation that Attorney General Sessions may be fired: \u201cif he\u2019s being moved because of his correct decision to recuse himself, I think that\u2019s a mistake.\u201d Watch the full interview. <\/a><\/p>\n

He also called for the firing of \u00a0Richard Cordray, <\/a>the first director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau: \u201cIt\u2019s my recommendation to the President of the United States to fire Richard Cordray, and if he wants to run for the governor of Ohio, go do it, but my concern is, you\u2019ve got an unelected bureaucrat sitting in an office right now, and I hope that the new chief of staff looks at him moving forward and saying it\u2019s time to act decisively.\u201d Watch the full interview.<\/a><\/p>\n
