APRIL 23, 2017 — In the face of a potential government shutdown this week, Reince Priebus, chief of staff to President Trump, <\/strong>exclusively told \u201cMeet the Press\u201d moderator Chuck Todd: \u201cI believe it will\u201d stay open.<\/p>\n

On the continuing resolution for government funding, Priebus said that the money for border security will be enough \u201cto move forward with either the construction or the planning, or enough for us to move forward through the end of September, to get going on the border wall and border security in regard to border patrol.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe expect money for border security in this bill. And it ought to be,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Priebus said he \u201cwould like to have a vote this week\u201d on healthcare, \u201c but again, it’s not something that has to happen in order to define our success.\u201d Watch the full interview.<\/a><\/p>\n

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) <\/strong>also exclusively joined the network\u2019s broadcast, telling Todd that, when it comes to the potential government shutdown, \u201cthe burden to keep it open is on the Republicans.\u201d<\/p>\n

On the proposed border wall, Pelosi asserted that it is \u201cexpressing a sign of weakness\u201d for the president; she also said that \u201cof course\u201d you can be a Democrat if you\u2019re pro-life. Watch the full interview.<\/a><\/p>\n

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.)<\/strong> addressed recent reporting that he had been involved in arranging a visit between Trump and two former Colombian presidents at Mar-a-Lago, denying any role whatsoever and telling Todd: \u201cI didn\u2019t even know they were in Florida.\u201d Watch the full interview.<\/a><\/p>\n

The show debuted new NBC News\/Wall Street Journal poll numbers<\/strong><\/a>, revealing that nearly two-thirds of Americans give the president poor of middling marks for his first 100 days in office.<\/p>\n

Democratic pollster Cornell Belcher,<\/strong> The Washington Post\u2019s Robert Costa,<\/strong> \u2018TODAY\u2019 co-anchor Savannah Guthrie<\/strong> and The Wall Street Journal\u2019s Peggy Noonan<\/strong> joined the program\u2019s roundtable for insight and analysis on the latest news, including the exit this week of Fox News\u2019 Bill O\u2019Reilly,<\/a> which Noonan noted as a \u201cserious setback for sexual harassment in the workplace.\u201d<\/p>\n
