For 16 months, the TODAY show anchors and staff will be part of the organization\u2019s \u201cpuppy\u00a0raising team\u201d to help the puppy become a service dog.<\/p>\n<p>With the guidance of an experienced dog handler, the TODAY team will help raise and train the puppy in Studio 1A during the show. At the end of 16\u00a0months, the puppy will\u00a0continue its formal service dog training with a certified instructor from America\u2019s VetDogs and will be matched with a disabled veteran.<\/p>\n<p>TODAY is asking viewers to help choose the puppy\u2019s name by casting their votes on\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/media.ne.cision.com\/l\/ekngyfws\/media.ne.cision.com\/l\/tzhgyhhp\/www.today.com\/parents\/no-rescue-parenting-anti-helicopter-2D80204421\">TODAY.com<\/a>.\u00a0The name will be announced on the show\u00a0tomorrow,\u00a0Tuesday, August 23.\u00a0\u00a0Viewers are also encouraged to track the puppy\u2019s progress on social media, by following the username @TodayPuppy on both Twitter and Instagram.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are excited to enlist TODAY as part of our training team,\u201d said VetDogs CEO Wells B. Jones. \u201cThe puppy will be exposed to an amazing variety of experiences that will allow him grow up to be comfortable and confident in just about every situation.
