Marks Longest Monthly Key Demo Winning Streak, Highest Monthly Total Viewership on Record

January 28, 2025 — NBC News Daily is the #1 afternoon news program on all of television in the key demos during its timeslot for the month of January, according to Nielsen Media Research.
Ranking #1 in the key A25-54 demo for the ninth consecutive month, this marks NBC News Daily’s longest demo winning streak on record. In January, NBC News Daily averaged 272,000 A25-54 viewers, leading GMA3 by +14,000 (+5%). NBC News Daily recorded its highest key demo viewership in two years, doubling its demo lead vs. the prior month.
NBC News Daily also recorded its highest total viewership for a month on record, averaging 1.378 million total viewers in January.

NBC News Daily also won the key demo for the fifth consecutive week, averaging 261,000 A25-54 viewers, outperforming GMA3 by +12,000 (+5%). NBC News Daily posted the largest year-over-year viewership growth across-the-board compared to GMA3.
Season-to-date, NBC News Daily is the #1 afternoon news program on all of TV in the key A25-54 demo, ahead of GMA3, also posting total viewership growth vs. last season. Since its premiere in September 2022, NBC News Daily has ranked ahead of CNN every week during the 12-4 p.m. ET daypart in total viewers and the key A25-54 demo.
NBC News Daily reaches even more viewers on its NBC News NOW streaming platform. Kate Snow, Morgan Radford, Vicky Nguyen and Zinhle Essamuah anchor from 12-4 p.m. ET on NBC News NOW, and depending on location, U.S. markets receive one of the four hours on their local NBC broadcast stations.
