“Meet the Press” Is the Only Sunday Program to Post Year-Over-Year, Across-The-Board Growth
December 10, 2024 — Meet the Press with Kristen Welker (MTP) was the #1 Sunday public affairs show across the board, winning total viewers and A25-54 on Sunday, December 8, according to Nielsen. This marks Meet the Press’ largest key demo audience in over two years and largest total viewer audience in over a year.
Meet the Press averaged 2.914 million total viewers and surpassed ABC’s This Week by +555,000 (+24%) and CBS’s Face the Nation by +206,000 (+8%). Meet the Press was the only program to post year-over-year growth.
Meet the Press averaged 569,000 key A25-54 demo viewers, leading ABC by +139,000 (+32%) and CBS by +131,000 (+30%). Meet the Press has ranked #1 in A25-54 for four consecutive weeks for the first time in over two years.
The Welker-led program also ranks #1 for the current broadcast season among key A25-54 demo viewers.
Meet the Press continues to lead in digital viewership for Sunday public affairs programs, with the full interview with President-elect Trump recording over 2.2 million views on YouTube. In addition, viewers consumed hundreds of thousands of hours of content across digital platforms.
Meet the Press was once again #1 in total viewers and the key A25-54 demo for the week in the influential Washington, D.C. market. Meet the Press beat the competition combined in both A25-54 and total viewers. Meet the Press has never lost a month in the Washington, D.C. market among total viewers.
Sunday’s broadcast featured an exclusive sit down with President-elect Donald Trump, his first network interview since winning the election. Throughout the wide-ranging interview, President-elect Trump broke news on more than a dozen topics, including his plans to pardon Jan. 6 defendants on day one of his presidency, to deport all immigrants in the U.S. illegally and end birthright citizenship.
