NBC Broadcast Tops ABC in Total Viewers & Demo for Second Straight Week; Beats CBS Hour

MTP Continues to Post Strong Growth Week-to-Week, Season-to-Date, and Year-to-Year

MARCH 5, 2015 – The March 1 edition of “Meet the Press with Chuck Todd” delivered the program’s biggest total viewer audience in over a year, according to Nielsen Media Research data.  The previous high was the 2/16/14 broadcast during the Sochi Olympics.

MTP was the #2 public affairs program in both total viewers and the demo, but ranked #1 compared to the full Face the Nation hour.  This marks the second straight week that the NBC broadcast has topped ABC’s This Week in both metrics.

Meet the Press continues to be the dominant leader in the influential Washington, DC market — nearly doubling the nearest competitor in total viewers and topping CBS, ABC, and FOX combined in the demo.

The NBC broadcast continues to post significant ratings growth and drive the political conversation:

  • Week over week, MTP was up +4% among total viewers and up +21% in A25-54 viewers (+0.16 in A25-54 rating).
  • Versus the same broadcast last season, MTP saw a +6% gain in total viewers, and a +14% gain among A25-54 viewers (+0.12 in rating).
  • Compared to 1Q15-to-date levels, MTP saw a gain of +11% among total viewers and a gain of +22% in A25-54 viewers.
  • MTP continues to post growth compared to season-to-date levels, up +20% among total viewers and up +37% in A25-54 viewers.

MTP delivered an additional 928,000 total viewers and 354,000 viewers A25-54 with rebroadcasts on the NBC network and MSNBC.
