May 14, 2024 — Meet the Press with Kristen Welker (MTP) was the #1 Sunday public affairs show in the key demo this past Sunday, May 12, according to data from Nielsen Media Research.
MTP beat ABC in the demo for the third consecutive week and improved its total viewer gap vs. CBS by 68%.
#1 in the Key Demo This Past Sunday
MTP ranked #1 in the A25-54 demo this past Sunday, averaging 422,000 viewers in the demo most valued by news advertisers.
Sunday marked the third consecutive week in which MTP has outperformed ABC’s This Week in the key demo. MTP improved its competitive positions across the board vs. CBS’s Face the Nation and improved its total viewer gap vs. CBS by 68%.
Sunday’s broadcast featured Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C). The program averaged 2.263 million total viewers, leading ABC by +106,000 (+5%) and trailing CBS, which continues to rate for just 30 minutes of its hour long program, by just 8%.
MTP Audiences Watch 188K Hours on Digital
Online audiences viewed 188,000 hours of MTP content across last week, with the brand seeing 1.7M video views across digital platforms.
Over 200,000 viewers watched the full episode on YouTube in addition to the program’s linear numbers.
#1 in Washington for Over 9 Years
MTP once again beat the competition combined in the key demo in the nation’s capital this past Sunday.
Among total viewers, MTP has not lost a Sunday in the influential Washington, D.C. market for over nine years.
