“MEET THE PRESS WITH KRISTEN WELKER” IS #1 IN THE KEY DEMO

Continues months-long win streak vs. ABC while posting strong YoY growth on digital

Feb. 27, 2024 — Meet the Press with Kristen Welker was the #1 Sunday show in the key demo this past Sunday, Feb. 25, according to data from Nielsen Media Research. 

In February, MTP outperformed ABC for the sixth consecutive month in the A25-54 demo and for the fourth consecutive month in total viewers.

On digital platforms, MTP is on pace to post +40% year-over-year gains in video views for the 8th straight month.

#1 in the Key Demo This Past Sunday 

MTP ranked #1 in the A25-54 demo this past Sunday, averaging 455,000 viewers and leading ABC’s This Week by +61,000 (+15%) and CBS’s Face the Nation by +23,000 (+5%). 

MTP outperformed ABC in total viewers for the seventh consecutive week and improved its competitive positions across the board against the network. It also improved its competitive positions in A25-54 and total viewers vs. CBS. 

Sunday’s broadcast featured National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and exclusive interviews with Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.) and Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.). The broadcast averaged 2.613 million total viewers, leading ABC by +234,000 (+10%) and trailing CBS, which continues to rate for just 30 minutes of its hour-long program, by just 6%.

Outperforms “This Week” for 6 Straight Months in the Demo

MTP was the only Sunday show among the big three broadcast networks to increase its total viewership vs. the prior year in February. 

This month marked six straight months in which MTP has outperformed ABC in the A25-54 demo most valued by news advertisers and four straight months outperforming the network in total viewers.

Continues Strong YoY Growth on Digital Platforms

In February, Meet the Press continued to see strong year-over-year growth across digital platforms with video views pacing to grow by more than +40% YoY for the 8th straight month.  

Last week, MTP audiences watched 236,000 hours of content across platforms while the full broadcast racked up 138,000 viewers on YouTube.

In February, full episodes garnered an average of nearly 250,000 viewers with the average viewer watching for 22 minute per episode. 

#1 in the Nation’s Capital for More than 8 Years

MTP beat the competition combined in the key demo in the nation’s capital this past Sunday. MTP has not lost a single Sunday in Washington, D.C. in over 8 years.

In February, MTP continued its historic monthly win streak – it has never lost a month in total viewers in the D.C. market.
