March 16, 2023 – Tonight, NBC News NOW presents Teens Under Pressure: Mental Health & Social Media, a special hosted by NBC News NOW anchor Savannah Sellers, on the mental health crisis this country is facing and the role social media is playing in that. The 30-minute special streams Thursday, March 16 at 10:30 p.m. ET.

Teens Under Pressure: Mental Health & Social Media features Sellers’ conversation with a group of students on growing up in the age of social media, as well as interviews with U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona and U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy on steps being taken to manage the mental health epidemic. Additionally, NBC News’ Erika Edwards and Teen Vogue’s Fortesa Latifi provide informed analysis.

As part of NBC News NOW’s collaboration with Teen Vogue to spotlight this important issue, Sellers shares her personal story in a special essay, now available on TeenVogue.com.
