March 10, 2023 – NBC News’ Lester Holt will sit down with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak for an exclusive broadcast interview airing Monday, March 13 on NBC Nightly News at 6:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. CT.
During the wide-ranging interview, they will discuss international relations with China and Russia, the war in Ukraine, plans to stabilize Britain’s political and economic issues and more. The one-on-one will take place ahead of the AUKUS defense partnership meeting scheduled between President Biden, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Prime Minister Sunak, at which NBC News reports they will announce the next steps on the plan for Australia to obtain nuclear-powered submarines with help from the U.S. and the U.K.
Portions of the sit-down, which will be Sunak’s first U.S. interview since he was appointed last fall, will also be featured Monday on TODAY, NBC News NOW, NBCNews.com, MSNBC and CNBC.
