‘TODAY’ Anchors Ride To Fight Hunger

NEW YORK – November 10, 2014 – Grab your bikes and helmets! Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker, Natalie Morales, Tamron Hall, Lester Holt and Erica Hill will be hitting the road to participate in the 15th annual Cranksgiving bike rides taking place in cities across the country. The Cranksgiving initiative is considered a food drive on two wheels, and proceeds are used to restock food banks across the nation and feed hundreds of hungry people during Thanksgiving. The TODAY anchors will hit the road on Saturday, November 22. Highlights from their rides will air Monday, November 24 on TODAY.

Additionally, NBC News correspondents Peter Alexander and Kerry Sanders as well as local station anchors from WNBC in New York, WTVJ in Miami, KNBC in Los Angeles and WRC in Washington, DC will be taking part in the action.

Viewers are encouraged to ride along and join Team TODAY or participate in a local Cranksgiving. TODAY anchors and correspondents will be riding in New York City, Long Island, Miami, Los Angeles and Washington, DC. In each of the select cities with participating anchors and correspondents, the first 100 Team TODAY registered riders to check-in on event day will receive an official team bike helmet cover. TODAY viewers that cannot participate in the Cranksgiving rides can still get involved. Beginning November 24, TODAY is partnering with Feeding America to raise money for One Million Meals by Christmas this holiday season.
