NEW YORK – May 3, 2022 – NBC News’ TODAY was the number-one morning show last week topping ABC’s “Good Morning America” in the key demo A25-54. The win marks 340 out of the last 348 weeks in first place. 

Last week, TODAY posted the closest total viewer gap with GMA since February. At this point in the season, TODAY has been the winner in the key demo for seven years straight and in A18-49 for nine years straight.  

Last week, TODAY Digital reached 14.6  million unique visitors. 

TODAY HIGHLIGHTS:

TODAY averaged 782,000 A25-54 viewers, beating ABC by +26,000 (+3%) and leading CBS by +308,000 (+65%)

  • TODAY has beaten ABC for 17 consecutive weeks (since 1/3/2022) and ranked ahead of CBS for 1,550 straight weeks (since 8/10/1992)

TODAY averaged 566,000 A18-49 viewers, beating ABC by +47,000 (+9%) and leading CBS by +236,000 (+71%)

TODAY averaged 2.937 million total viewers, leading CBS by +523,000 (+22%)

  • TODAY has beaten CBS for 1,550 consecutive weeks (since 8/10/1992)
  • TODAY’s total viewer advantage over CBS is the largest seen in 4 weeks (since 3/28/2022) while its gap vs. GMA was the closest in 9 weeks (since 2/21/2022)
  • Week-over-week, TODAY improved its total viewership advantage vs. CBS by 8% (+523,000 vs. +485,000 prior week).
  • Compared to the same week prior year, TODAY improved its total viewership advantage vs. CBS by 26% (+523,000 vs. +416,000 prior year)
