Feb. 1, 2022 – Meet the Press with Chuck Todd (MTP) was the #1 most-watched Sunday show in the all-important key demo for the month of January and this past Sunday, Jan. 30, according to Nielsen Media Research.

#1 in Key Demo for the Month of January

MTP continues to dominate in the demo most-valued by news advertisers, winning the month among A25-54 viewers. MTP averaged 594,000 A25-54 viewers in January: five percent (+30,000) more than ABC’s This Week and three percent (+17,000) more than CBS’s Face the Nation. Compared to last month, MTP was up +18 percent (+89,000) and reversed its gaps with ABC (+30,000 vs. -69,000 prior month) and CBS (+17,000 vs. -73,000 prior month). 

MTP averaged 2.691 million total viewers in January. Compared to last month, MTP was up three percent (+72,000) and improved its gap over ABC by 75 percent (-9,000 vs. -37,000 prior month).

Also Wins Sunday in Key Demo; Tops Competition by Double-Digits

MTP was also #1 in the key demo this past Sunday and topped both ABC and CBS by double digits. MTP averaged 616,000 A25-54 viewers, topping ABC’s This Week by +25 percent (+122,000) and CBS’s Face the Nation by +10 percent (+58,000). Compared to last week, MTP improved its lead over ABC (+122,000 vs. +90,000 prior week).

Sunday’s broadcast featured interviews with Sen. Dick Durbin, Sen. Rob Portman, Gov. Phil Murphy and Gov. Asa Hutchinson and averaged 2.647 million total viewers: two percent (+60,000) more than ABC. 

An additional 110,000 total viewers and 22,000 A25-54 viewers watched the Sunday program through a rebroadcast on NBC.

Reaches More Than 11 Million Video Views Across Digital in January

For the month of January, MTP delivered more than 11 million monthly video views across digital platforms. This marks the show’s fourth consecutive month of hitting more than 10 million monthly video views. On YouTube, the average MTP full episode reached more than 530,000 views and 418,000 viewers for the month of January.

Last week, MTP reached more than 2.1 million video views and 215,000 hours watched across digital platforms.

This past Sunday’s full episode has currently reached more than 343,000 video views, up +14 percent week over week, and 283,000 viewers, up +18 percent week of week. And, the full episode that aired last Sunday, Jan. 23 saw 424,000 video views on YouTube and 350,000 viewers.

82 Consecutive Months as #1 Most Watched Sunday Show in Washington, D.C. 

MTP continues to dominate the influential Washington, D.C. market, topping the competition by double digits across-the-board and winning in total viewers for 82 consecutive months.
