All-New Two-Hour ‘The Ascension of Mother God’ Airs Friday at 9pm ET/8pm CT
October 13, 2021 – On Friday’s all-new Dateline NBC at 9pm ET/8pm CT, family members and investigators speak out for the first time on network television since the death of “Love Has Won” spiritual leader Amy Carlson, known to her followers as “Mother God.” The case gained worldwide attention after deputies found her mummified body covered with Christmas lights in a Colorado house where members of the group stayed.
Saguache County Sheriff Dan Warwick tells Dateline’s Keith Morrison that when he arrived at the house, the group’s followers were worshipping Carlson’s corpse and putting essential oils on it to “keep the odor down.” He tells Morrison, “Wow, I mean, it’s just [you] shake and go wow. There’s not much more I can say. I’ve been doing this for 26 years. I used to say I’ve seen it all. I don’t say that anymore.”
