April 8, 2021 – Meet the Press Reports’ second season, anchored by NBC News Political Director and Meet the Press Moderator Chuck Todd, debuts tonight, Thursday, April 8, at 8 p.m. ET. The returning program is available live on NBC News NOW and streams live and on demand on Peacock, NBCUniversal’s streaming service.
In its second season, the once-weekly 30-minute program breaks down a single topic explored through the Meet the Press lens featuring experts and the full breadth of NBC News reporters.
In the first episode, Chuck Todd explores how violent domestic extremism has infected the country’s politics and if the Jan. 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol could foreshadow a potentially violent future. The season premiere dives into how populism, grievance politics and nationalism play into extremism and what law enforcement, national security experts and elected officials can do to combat domestic terrorism in the future.
NBC News Correspondent and Co-Anchor for NBC News NOW Morgan Radford will join to discuss her reporting on the rise of extremist groups. Plus, experts on extremism join this week’s episode, including:
- Jim Cavanaugh, former ATF Special Agent in Charge
- Jonathan Greenblatt, CEO of the Anti-Defamation League
- Seth Jones, Center for Strategic and International Studies
- Thomas Mockaitis, DePaul University
The second season features deep dives on several pressing topics including flaws in American cybersecurity, water insecurity across the U.S., the broken immigration system, millennials and the future of American politics, a lookback at a historic year of unrest across the country, and more.
Meet the Press Reports streams Thursdays on NBC News NOW at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. and on Fridays at 2 a.m. and 9 p.m. ET. New episodes of Meet the Press Reports are also available on demand on Peacock, NBCUniversal’s streaming network, each Friday.
