Feb. 23, 2021 – Meet the Press with Chuck Todd (MTP) was the #1 most-watched Sunday show in the key demo this past Sunday, Feb. 21, according to Nielsen Media Research.
#1 in Key Demo for 6 Out of Last 8 Weeks
MTP averaged 3.738 million total viewers: +16 percent (+513,000) more than ABC’s This Week. Less than one percent separate MTP from CBS’s Face the Nation which continues to rate for only the first 30 minutes of its hour-long broadcast and follows the highly-rated CBS Sunday Morning. This marks MTP’s best total viewer advantage over ABC in six weeks (since Jan. 10, 2021). Compared to last Sunday, MTP was up +21,000 and compared to the same Sunday last year, MTP was up +26 percent (+781,000).
MTP was #1 in the demo most valued by news advertisers and averaged 735,000 A25-54 viewers: two percent (+13,000) more than ABC and seven percent (+46,000) more than CBS. Compared to the same Sunday last year, MTP was up six percent (+39,000). Season-to-date, MTP remains #1 in the key demo for six straight years.
Sunday’s broadcast featured interviews with Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases; Randi Weingarten, President of the American Federation of Teachers; and former Rep. Will Hurd (R-Texas).
An additional 215,000 total viewers and 57,000 A25-54 viewers watched the Sunday program through a rebroadcast on NBC.
Reaches 3.9 Million Video Views Across Digital
MTP reached 3.9 million video views, up eight percent week over week and 180 percent year over year, and reached 668,000 hours watched across platforms, up six percent week over week and +876 percent year over year.
This past Sunday’s full episode has currently reached more than 819,000 views and 635,000 viewers. And, the full episode that aired on Feb. 14 saw 1 million views on YouTube and 800,000 viewers.
Almost Six Years as #1 Most Watched Sunday Show in Washington, D.C.
MTP continues to dominate the influential Washington, D.C. market, winning every Sunday with total viewers in almost six years (since March 22, 2015).
