Follows Morrison’s #1 Podcast “The Thing About Pam”
February 9, 2021 – Dateline NBC will debut an all-new true-crime podcast series hosted by Keith Morrison on Tuesday, February 16th. The six-episode series, Mommy Doomsday, features Dateline’s year-long exclusive and original reporting on Idaho mom Lori Vallow, who made worldwide headlines after her children, JJ and Tylee, vanished.

Mommy Doomsday reveals a rare inside look at Vallow and her husband, Chad Daybell, and the events surrounding the disappearance of JJ and Tylee, including Vallow and Daybell’s participation in a fringe religious group that believed doomsday was near. Both Vallow and Daybell have denied any wrongdoing in the case, which Dateline has reported on since the beginning. They are facing charges of destruction, alteration, or concealment of evidence.
The first two episodes of Mommy Doomsday, produced by Dateline and NBC News in partnership with Neon Hum, will be available for download and streaming on any podcast platform on February 16, with the following four episodes debuting over the next three weeks.
This marks the second original true-crime podcast from Morrison, who previously hosted the #1 podcast The Thing About Pam, which has received over 14 million downloads since its September 2019 launch and was listed on Apple’s top 25 most popular new shows of 2019. It was also announced last week that NBC greenlit a straight-to-series based on the story featured in the podcast series. Two-time Oscar-winning actress Renee Zellweger will star and executive produce the series, in collaboration with Blumhouse Television, NBC News Studios and Zellweger’s Big Picture Co.
Mommy Doomsday is produced by Dateline and NBC News. At Dateline, Shane Bishop and Vincent Sturla are the producers and Linda Zhang is the associate producer. Susan Nalle oversees digital programming, Joe Delmonico is the senior producer and Adam Gorfain is the co-executive broadcast producer. Liz Cole is the executive producer and David Corvo is the senior executive producer. From Neon Hum Media, Odelia Rubin and Hayley Fager are producers. Jonathan Hirsch is the executive producer.
