December 11, 2020 – As part of NBC News’ TODAY’s “Season of Giving” series, TODAY is shining a light on the food insecurity crisis by teaming up with Feeding America. This year, the holidays are unlike any other. So many Americans are struggling due to the pandemic. According to Feeding America, nearly 50 million Americans will face food insecurity this year.
On Tuesday, December 15, across all four hours of TODAY, the morning show will dedicate an entire hour to this crisis. Reporting live from food drives all across the country, Al Roker will be in East Hartford, CT; Vicky Nguyen will be in Houston, TX and Morgan Radford will be in Chicago, IL where they will share ways that viewers can help.
Then, on Wednesday, December 16, TODAY will spread some joy with the help of Toys for Tots. TODAY anchors will raise awareness of toy drives across the country and share inspiring stories about people and organizations that are helping to get toys into the hands of children in need this holiday season. For those interested in supporting Feeding America and Toys for Tots, there will be a secure QR code on-air and dedicated landing pages on TODAY.com.
