#1 In All-Important Key Demo on Sunday
Grows Across the Board Week Over Week and Year Over Year
December 2, 2020 – Meet the Press with Chuck Todd (MTP) was the #1 most-watched Sunday show in the key demo for the month of November and this past Sunday, November 29, according to Nielsen Media Research.
November marked MTP’s 16th consecutive month at #1 in the demo most valued by news advertisers and sixth straight November win.
MTP averaged 822,000 A25-54 key demo viewers for the month of November: +13 percent (+96,000) more than ABC’s This Week and five percent (+40,000) more than CBS’s Face the Nation. This marks MTP’s best A25-54 monthly delivery in six months (since May 2020). Compared to last November, MTP was up +10 percent (+73,000).
MTP averaged 3.702 million total viewers, topping ABC by seven percent (+245,000). Just three percent separated MTP from CBS, which continues to rate for only the first 30 minutes of its hour-long broadcast and follows the highly-rated CBS Sunday Morning. This marks MTP’s best total viewer monthly delivery in six months (since May 2020). Compared to last November, MTP was up +13 percent (+430,000).
Sunday’s broadcast featured interviews with Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and Adm. Michael Mullen (Ret.), former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
MTP was also the #1 most-watched Sunday show in the demo most valued by news advertisers this past Sunday, November 29 and averaged 784,000 A25-54 viewers. MTP topped ABC by six percent (+48,000) and CBS by five percent (+36,000). Compared to last week, MTP was up three percent (+21,000) and compared to the same Sunday last year, MTP grew the most and was up +16 percent (+110,000).
MTP averaged 3.675 million total viewers, five percent (+182,000) more than ABC. Just three percent separated MTP from CBS, which continues to rate for only the first 30 minutes of its hour-long broadcast and follows the highly-rated CBS Sunday Morning. Compared to last week, MTP was up two percent (+74,000) and compared to the same Sunday last year, MTP was up +19 percent (+582,000).
An additional 485,000 total viewers and 207,000 A25-54 viewers watched the Sunday program through a rebroadcast on NBC.
MTP continues to dominate the influential Washington, D.C. market, more than tripling the competition across the board and winning every Sunday with total viewers in over five years (since March 22, 2015).
