Lester Holt and Savannah Guthrie to Lead NBC News’ ‘Remembering Ruth Bader Ginsburg,’ Beginning Tomorrow Morning

Sept. 22, 2020 – Starting tomorrow, Wednesday, Sept. 23, NBC News and MSNBC will air special live coverage for the events honoring the life and legacy of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, continuing throughout the week and leading up to funeral services next week at the Arlington National Cemetery.
NBC News Now will stream the network’s special coverage live and on demand across OTT platforms, including Peacock, NBCUniversal’s new streaming service.
Wednesday, Sept. 23
At approximately 9:30 a.m. ET, the network will broadcast “Remembering Ruth Bader Ginsburg,” special live coverage anchored by Lester Holt and Savannah Guthrie as Justice Ginsburg arrives to lie in repose in the U.S. Supreme Court.
They will be joined by NBC News Senior Washington Correspondent Andrea Mitchell, NBC News Justice Correspondent Pete Williams and NBC News White House Correspondent Geoff Bennett from the Supreme Court, as well as NBC News White House Correspondent Peter Alexander from the White House and NBC News Capitol Hill Correspondent Kasie Hunt from Washington, D.C.
Also joining Holt and Guthrie will be:
- Neal Katyal, NBC News legal analyst and former U.S. Acting Solicitor General
- Irin Carmon, journalist and co-author of Notorious RBG: The Life and Times of Ruth Bader Ginsburg
- Ruth Marcus, deputy editorial page editor and columnist at the Washington Post
On MSNBC, Stephanie Ruhle and Hallie Jackson will lead tomorrow’s coverage, beginning at 9:20 a.m. ET.
Friday, September 25
Holt and Guthrie will anchor a special report as Justice Ginsburg arrives to lie in state in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda, making her the first woman to do so.
Chuck Todd, NBC News political director and moderator of Meet the Press, will lead MSNBC’s coverage.
