Grows In Total Viewers And Key Demo Year Over Year

August 18, 2020 – Meet the Press with Chuck Todd (MTP) was the #1 most-watched Sunday show in the key demo this past Sunday, August 16, according to Nielsen Media Research. Season-to-date, MTP is the #1 most-watched Sunday show across the board.
Sunday’s broadcast featured interviews with National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and averaged 3.125 million total viewers, topping ABC’s This Week by double-digits: +14 percent (+381,000). Compared to the same Sunday last year, MTP was up nine percent in total viewers (+261,000). Note, CBS’ Face the Nation continues to rate for only the first 30 minutes of its hour-long broadcast.
MTP was #1 in the demo most valued by news advertisers. 698,000 A25-54 key demo viewers tuned into the Sunday program: seven percent (+48,000) more than ABC’s This Week and +19 percent (+110,000) more than CBS’ Face the Nation. Compared to last week, MTP was up one percent (+6,000), and compared to the same Sunday last year, MTP saw a viewership increase of four percent (+25,000).
An additional 933,000 total viewers and 162,000 A25-54 viewers watched the Sunday program through rebroadcasts on NBC and MSNBC.
MTP continues to dominate the influential Washington, D.C. market, more than doubling the competition across the board and winning every Sunday with total viewers in over five years (since March 22, 2015).
