June 23, 2020 – Meet the Press with Chuck Todd (MTP) was the #1 most-watched Sunday show across the board this past Sunday, June 21, according to Nielsen Media Research.
Sunday’s broadcast featured interviews with Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Chad Wolf, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif) and Michael Osterholm, Director for the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota.
MTP averaged 3.487 million total viewers: +21 percent (+604,000) more than ABC’s This Week and nine percent (+275,000) more than CBS’ Face the Nation. This was MTP’s best total viewer delivery in three weeks (since May 31, 2020), as well as MTP’s best advantage over CBS in three weeks (since May 31, 2020) and over ABC in five weeks (since May 17, 2020). Compared to last week, MTP grew the most and was up six percent (+191,000) and compared to the same Sunday last year, MTP was up +11 percent (+355,000).
MTP was also #1 in the demo most valued by news advertisers for its 17th consecutive week and topped both ABC and CBS by double-digits. 842,000 A25-54 key demo viewers tuned into the Sunday program: +33 percent (+209,000) more than ABC’s This Week and +43 percent (+255,000) more than CBS’ Face the Nation. This was MTP’s best A25-54 viewers delivery in three weeks (since May 31, 2020), as well as MTP’s best advantage over CBS in 12 weeks (since March 29, 2020) and over ABC in five weeks (since May 17, 2020). Compared to last week, MTP was the only Sunday show to grow and was up +13 percent (+96,000) and compared to the same Sunday last year, MTP was up nine percent (+68,000).
An additional 1.138 million total viewers and 205,000 A25-54 viewers watched the Sunday program through rebroadcasts on NBC and MSNBC.
Season-to-date, MTP is the #1 most-watched Sunday show across the board.
MTP continues to dominate the influential Washington, D.C. market, more than doubling the competition across the board and winning every Sunday with total viewers in over five years (since March 22, 2015).
