#1 In Key Demo For Tenth Straight Month

Grows The Most Across The Board Year Over Year, Up By Double Digits

June 2, 2020 – Meet the Press with Chuck Todd (MTP) was the #1 most-watched Sunday show across the board for the month of May and this past Sunday, May 31, according to Nielsen Media Research.

This marks MTP’s third straight May win across the board. An average of 3.653 million total viewers tuned into MTP in May: +21 percent (+634,000) more than ABC’s This Week and two percent (+54,000) more than CBS’ Face the Nation. Compared to last May, MTP grew the most and was up +22 percent (+656,000). May also marked MTP’s best total viewer monthly win over ABC in 16 months (since January 2019). 

MTP was also #1 in the demo most valued by news advertisers for the tenth consecutive month and topped both ABC and CBS by double-digits. 834,000 A25-54 viewers tuned in for the month: +27 percent (+175,000) more than ABC and +11 percent (+84,000) more than CBS. Compared to last May, MTP was up +18 percent (+129,000) and more than doubled (+128 percent) it’s lead over ABC. 

Sunday’s special broadcast featured interviews with Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and Rep. Val Demings, and averaged 3.695 million total viewers: nine percent (+320,000) more than ABC and nine percent (+316,000) more than CBS. This marks MTP’s best total viewer advantage over CBS in five weeks. Compared to last week, MTP was up +10 percent (+332,000) and compared to the same Sunday last year, MTP grew the most and was up +31 percent (+869,000).

MTP was also #1 in the key demo this past Sunday and topped both ABC and CBS by double-digits. 931,000 A25-54 viewers tuned into the Sunday program: +14 percent (+113,000) more than ABC and +21 percent (+161,000) more than CBS. This marks MTP’s best A25-54 viewer advantage over CBS in five weeks. Compared to last week, MTP was up +22 percent (+166,000) and compared to the same Sunday last year, MTP grew the most and was up +62 percent (+357,000). 

An additional 322,000 total viewers and 132,000 A25-54 viewers watched the Sunday program through a rebroadcast on NBC.

Season-to-date, MTP is the #1 most-watched Sunday show across the board.

MTP continues to dominate the influential Washington, D.C. market, more than doubling the competition across the board and winning every Sunday with total viewers in over five years (since March 22, 2015).
