Holt Anchors a Special Edition of NBC Nightly News and Joins TODAY on Monday, Aug. 19
August 18, 2019 – NBC News’ Lester Holt reports from inside Tehran, Iran on Monday, August 19 for a special edition of NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt at 6:30pm ET/5:30pm CT. He will also join TODAY that morning from the ground.
During a critical moment for the world, Holt gets a rare look inside the country and sits down with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, his first interview with a United States news outlet since the U.S. imposed sanctions on him. Holt will also speak with those directly impacted by the Trump administration’s “maximum pressure” campaign of economic sanctions, including Iranian families and emerging tech entrepreneurs, among others. Additionally, he will report from the ground on the escalating tensions since the United States pulled out of the nuclear deal.
