Beats Combined Competition in D.C. Market Across the Board This Past Sunday

#1 in Key Demo for 59th Straight Broadcast

MARCH 19, 2019 – Meet the Press with Chuck Todd (MTP) was the #1 most-watched Sunday show across the board this past Sunday, March 17, according to Nielsen Media Research, marking the show’s sixth straight week at #1 and winning every Sunday with total viewers in Washington for its fourth straight year (since March 22, 2015).

MTP continues to dominate the influential Washington, D.C. market and outperformed competing public affairs shows combined in both total viewers and A25-54 viewers this past Sunday.

The broadcast featured interviews with Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) and Beto O’Rourke on the trail in Waterloo, Iowa, as well as an exclusive interview with Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.).

3.452 million total viewers tuned in to the Sunday program as MTP topped both ABC and CBS by double-digits: +21 percent (+610,000) more than ABC’s This Week and +12 percent (+359,000) more than CBS’ Face the Nation. This marks the broadcast’s 39th straight win over ABC in total viewers and the 16th win over CBS out of the last 17 broadcasts.

MTP also won in the demo most valued by news advertisers for its 59th straight broadcast, topping both ABC and CBS by double-digits. 854,000 A25-54 demo viewers tuned into the Sunday program: +28 percent (+187,000) more than ABC and +21 percent (+148,000) more than CBS.
