‘TODAY’ Tops GMA in Key A25-54 and A18-49 Demos

NEW YORK – July 24, 2018 – NBC News’ TODAY was the number-one morning show last week, topping ABC’s “Good Morning America” in the key A25-54 and A18-49 demos.  For 134 straight weeks, TODAY has won A25-54, delivering its best streak in six years.  Among A18-49, TODAY has been number-one for 153 of the last 154 weeks.

TODAY also won across the board, in total viewers and among both key demos, this past Thursday when the show landed the morning show exclusive with White House press secretary Sean Spicer three days following the summit between President Donald Trump and President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki.

Season to date, TODAY remains the number-one morning show among the key A25-54 and A18-49 demos.  Year-over-year, the show has improved its total viewers advantage vs. “GMA” by 66% and improved its lead vs. “CBS This Morning” by 58%.

Please note TODAY was retitled on Monday due to live breaking news coverage of the Trump-Putin meeting in Helsinki.

  •          TODAY has now ranked #1 among A25-54 viewers for 134 consecutive weeks (best streak in six years) and 150 of the last 151 weeks
  •          TODAY delivered a 0.95 A25-54 rating, +0.06 points ahead of GMA and +0.38 points more than CBS

TODAY averaged 793,000 A18-49 viewers, +41,000 (+5%) ahead of GMA and +299,000 (+60%) higher than CBS

  •          TODAY has been #1 among A18-49 viewers in 153 of the last 154 weeks
  •          TODAY delivered a 0.62 A18-49 rating, +0.04 points more than GMA and +0.24 points better than CBS

TODAY averaged 3.483 million total viewers, leading CBS This Morning by +710,000 (+26%)

  •          Compared to the same week last season, TODAY’s advantage over CBS increased by 58%
