Broadcast Features Interviews with John Meehan’s Wife, Detectives in Case and More

All-New ‘The Women & Dirty John’ Airs Friday, January 12 at 10 p.m. ET/9 p.m. CT

January 10, 2018 – ‘Dateline NBC’ will present an all-new broadcast, entitled ‘The Women & Dirty John,’ this Friday, January 12 at 10 p.m. ET, on conman John Meehan, who made national headlines last year after his crimes and their final deadly culmination were featured in the popular podcast, ‘Dirty John.’  NBC News’ Keith Morrison sits down with Meehan’s wife Debra Newell, who opens up about the moment she realized Meehan was dangerous, saying: “I thought, how could this man fake it to this degree? Friday’s special also includes an interview with Detective Dennis Luken, who investigated Meehan. He described Meehan’s methods to Morrison, “He’d take their money and when they would find out about him and break up the relationship, then John – the other side of John – would come out. John would threaten them, he would terrorize them.” To watch a preview, click here.

‘The Women & Dirty John’ also features interviews with Debra’s daughter Terra Newell, Meehan’s first wife Tonia Bales, Detective Rick Henry, Orange County deputy district attorney Matt Murphy andLos Angeles Times reporter and host of ‘Dirty John’ Christopher Goffard.
