The NBC News Broadcast Ranks #1 in A18-49 for 103 of Last 104 Weeks 

Nightly News Holds Largest Demo Lead Over ABC in Four Seasons and Largest A18-49 Advantage in Three Seasons

NEW YORK (August 1, 2017) – “NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt” topped the demo again in July 2017 ranking #1 in the A25-54 demo for the 25th consecutive month. The NBC News broadcast averaged 1.6 million A25-54 viewers, leading ABC by +95,000 viewers (+6%) and CBS by +409,000 viewers (+34%). Nightly News continued its streak among A18-49 viewers ranking #1 in that demo for the 27th straight month. Nightly News averaged 1.2 million A18-49 viewers besting ABC by +115,000 viewers (+11%) and CBS by +386,000 viewers (+49%).

Nightly News averaged 7.2 million total viewers in July 2017, leading CBS by +1.6 million viewers (+28%) and showing a +21% improvement in the advantage from the same month last year.

For the week of July 24, Nightly News ranked #1 in the news demo, averaging 1.6 million A25-54 viewers, leading ABC by +41,000 viewers (+3%) and CBS by +427,000 viewers (+37%). Nightly News has ranked #1 in A25-54 for 58 consecutive weeks.

In the same week, Nightly News averaged 1.1 million A18-49 viewers, topping ABC by +45,000 viewers (+4%) and CBS by +382,000 viewers (+50%). Among A18-49 viewers, Nightly News has won 103 of the last 104 weeks. Nightly News grew the most week-over-week among A18-49 viewers.

Nightly News averaged 7.2 million total viewers for the week of July 24, leading “CBS Evening News” by +1.6 million (+29%).

Nightly News holds its largest demo lead over ABC in four seasons and its biggest advantage over CBS in three seasons. Compared to last season, Nightly News’ demo lead over ABC is up by +2% and its lead over CBS is up +12%. Nightly News is posting its best A18-49 advantages over the competition in three seasons.
