Nightly News Wins 22nd Consecutive Month in the A25-54 Demo
The NBC News Broadcast is #1 Across the Board This Season
NEW YORK (May 2, 2017) – “NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt” ranked #1 across the board for the week of April 24, averaging 7.65 million total viewers, leading “ABC World News Tonight” by +68,000 viewers (+1%) and “CBS Evening News” by +1.5 million viewers (+25%).
In the A25-54 demo, Nightly News averaged 1.75 million viewers, leading ABC by 163,000 viewers (+10%) and CBS by +424,000 viewers (+32%). Among A18-49, Nightly News averaged 1.3 million viewers, topping ABC by +257,000 (+25%) and CBS by +359,000 (+39%). Nightly News posted its biggest A18-49 wins over the competition in five weeks. The NBC News broadcast has ranked #1 in A25-54 and A18-49 for 91 of the last 92 weeks.
In April 2017, Nightly News ranked #1 in the A25-54 demo for the 22nd consecutive month. The NBC News broadcast averaged 1.8 million A25-54 viewers in April 2017, leading ABC by +140,000 viewers (+9%) and CBS by 402,000 viewers (+29%). Nightly News ranked #1 in A18-49 for the 24th straight month and has topped that demo in 114 of the last 115 months. Compared to April 2016, Nightly News increased its A18-49 lead over ABC by +14%.
Season to date, Nightly News is the #1 evening newscast across the board. The NBC News broadcast holds its largest demo leads over ABC and CBS in three seasons. Compared to last season, Nightly News’ demo lead over ABC is up +13%, while its advantage over CBS is up +12%.
