Nightly News Continues 20-Year November Sweep Win Streak among A18-49
NEW YORK (November 29, 2016) – “NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt” ranked #1 in the demo for the November 2016 sweep period, averaging 2.1 million A25-54 viewers, leading “ABC World News Tonight” by +229,000 (12%) and “CBS Evening News” by 495,000 (+31%). This represented Nightly News’s biggest November sweep demo win over ABC in three years. The NBC News broadcast has finished #1 in the demo for six consecutive sweep periods and 32 of the last 35 sweeps.
Among A18-49, Nightly News averaged 1.6 million viewers for the sweep period, topping ABC by +209,000 (+15%) and CBS by +441,000 (+39%). Nightly News has won every November sweep in A18-49 since 1997 (a 20-year streak) and has topped 36 of the last 37 sweeps periods in that demo overall.
Nightly News averaged 8.49 million total viewers for November sweep, leading CBS Evening News by +1.4 million (+20%).
