CHUCK TODD:

You just flatly, I didn’t ask you, but you flatly said, “I’m not voting for Hillary.”

JOHN KASICH:

No, of course not.

CHUCK TODD:

Okay. What about Donald Trump?

JOHN KASICH:

No, I’m no closer. I mean, there’s too much–

CHUCK TODD:

There’s a difference.

JOHN KASICH:

— water under the bridge.

But there’s a difference there. You said you’re no closer. You ruled out voting for Hillary Clinton. Are you ruling out voting for Donald Trump?

JOHN KASICH:

It’s very, very likely I will not.

CHUCK TODD:

Okay. You leave–

JOHN KASICH:

I’m not, I’m not.

CHUCK TODD:

— why do you leave the door unlocked?

JOHN KASICH:

Because it’s just too early to make, you know, a statement like that. But I’m just not doing it today on Meet the Press. I’ll do it when I want to do it.

CHUCK TODD:

No. I understand that. But so — But why shut the door on Hillary Clinton already and not shut the door on Donald Trump?

JOHN KASICH:

Well–

CHUCK TODD:

What is it about Donald Trump that says–

JOHN KASICH:

Because I’m a Republican.

CHUCK TODD:

–there’s a shot?

JOHN KASICH:

Because I’m a Republican.

CHUCK TODD:

It’s party loyalty?

JOHN KASICH:

Well, I mean, to some degree. But I’m Chuck —

CHUCK TODD:

There’s a time you said country first.

JOHN KASICH:

Look, it is country first. And I am unlikely to cast that vote. The chances are miniscule.
