Races Equally Close When Expanded to Include Johnson and Stein

GOP Leads in All Four States’ Contested Senate Races

SEPT. 11, 2016 – Presidential nominees Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are in dead heats in four battleground states – Arizona, Georgia, New Hampshire and Nevada – according to four new NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist polls released this morning.

  • In Arizona: Trump leads Clinton among likely voters by one point, 42 percent to 41 percent. (Among the larger group of all registered voters, it’s Clinton 41 percent, Trump 40 percent.)
  • In Georgia: Trump is ahead by three points among likely voters, 46 percent to 43 percent. (Among registered voters, the candidates are tied at 44 percent each.)
  • In Nevada: Clinton is up by one point, 45 percent to 44 percent (but she’s ahead by five points among registered voters, 46 percent to 41 percent)
  • In New Hampshire: Clinton leads Trump by one point, 42 percent to 41 percent (and they’re tied at 40 percent each among registered voters).

The races remain equally close in all four states when expanded to include Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson and the Green Party’s Jill Stein.

The polls also reveal that Republicans lead in all four states’ contested Senate races, though Nevada is within the poll’s margin of error.
