‘Fireworks: America’s 250 Live from Washington’ to Stream on NBC News NOW Beginning at 7 p.m. ET
June 24, 2026 — NBC News will commemorate America’s 250th anniversary with special primetime programming on NBC and NBC News’ streaming channel NBC News NOW, as well as extensive coverage across TODAY, NBC Nightly News with Tom Llamas, Meet the Press with Kristen Welker and NBCNews.com.
Coverage will begin Friday, July 3 with Tom Llamas anchoring a special edition of NBC Nightly News from Philadelphia and continue throughout the holiday weekend. On July 4, TODAY kicks off six hours of live exclusive coverage of Sail4th 250’s marquee events in New York Harbor, led by the International Parade of Sail, culminating with primetime programming from Washington, D.C., and America 250 fireworks displays nationwide.

NBC News Special Coverage on NBC: 7 a.m.–1 p.m. ET
- TODAY Co-anchors Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin broadcast live from Governors Island as Sail4th 250’s International Parade of Sail begins. Coverage will feature the international goodwill events taking place in New York Harbor, expected to be the largest maritime and aerial gathering in U.S. history with tall ships, naval vessels and aircraft from 46 nations.
- TODAY’s Sheinelle Jones and Saturday TODAY’s Laura Jarrett join Melvin for continued coverage from 11 a.m.–1 p.m.
