Ranks as #1 Afternoon Broadcast News Program on TV Season-to-Date
April 16, 2025 — NBC News Daily is the #1 afternoon news program on broadcast television in the key demo last week during its timeslot, according to Nielsen Media Research.
Recording its third straight key demo win, NBC News Daily averaged 223,000 key A25-54 viewers, leading GMA3 by +19,000 (+9%). NBC News Daily increased its key demo lead to be 4x larger than the prior week.
NBC News Daily was the only program to increase viewership across the board versus the prior year. NBC News Daily was also the only program to increase its total viewership versus the prior week. In both measurements, GMA3 was down across the board.
Season-to-date, NBC News Daily is the #1 afternoon broadcast news program on TV in the key A25-54 demo, ahead of GMA3, also posting across-the-board viewership growth vs. last season. Since its premiere in September 2022, NBC News Daily has also ranked ahead of CNN every week during the 12-4 p.m. ET daypart in total viewers and the key A25-54 demo.
NBC News Daily averaged 1.136 million total viewers and was the only program up versus the prior year and prior week.
NBC News Daily reaches even more viewers on its NBC News NOW streaming platform. Kate Snow, Morgan Radford, Vicky Nguyen and Zinhle Essamuah anchor from 12-4 p.m. ET on NBC News NOW, and depending on location, U.S. markets receive one of the four hours on their local NBC broadcast stations.
