NBC News NOW Reaches Best Q1 in History; Dateline 24/7 Marks Best Quarter Ever
NBC News’ Flagship TikTok Account Ranks #1 with 2.5 Billion Views, Records Best Quarter Ever
April 15, 2025 – NBC News reached ratings highs across digital, streaming and social platforms in Q1 2025. NBCNews.com delivered the largest year-over-year percentage growth among news sites, while NBC News NOW delivered its strongest Q1 in history and NBC News’ flagship TikTok account ranked #1 with 2.5 billion views in Q1.
NBCNews.com reached an average of 87 million unique visitors in Q1 2025, +6% vs. Q1 2024, according to Comscore. This marked NBCNews.com’s best Q1 in four years. NBCNews.com is a leader among news sites, ranking ahead of The New York Times Brand, Fox News, ABC News, The Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal for the quarter. For the first time ever, NBCNews.com has ranked ahead of The New York Times Brand for three consecutive quarters and marked its closest gap with CNN.com on record. While most competition was down versus the prior year, NBCNews.com was up +6%, the largest year-over-year percentage growth of any news site.
NBC News NOW delivered its strongest Q1 in history, up +43% year over year. Q1 is a top two quarter on record, behind only Q4 2024. The last three quarters have all marked double-digit, year-over-year growth. Two of NBC News NOW’s top five months on record took place in Q1 2025. Plus, NBC News NOW has more than tripled its monthly hours viewed over the last five years.
NBC News’ flagship TikTok account recorded its best quarter ever with 2.5 billion total views, ranking #1 among news networks on the platform, ahead of all competition including CBS News, ABC News, CNN, Fox News, The New York Times, The Washington Post and others. NBC News’ additional accounts on TikTok, including TODAY, Meet the Press, NBC Nightly News, Dateline and Stay Tuned, garnered hundreds of millions of additional views.
Dateline 24/7, the dedicated streaming channel for the true-crime franchise, delivered its best quarter ever among hours viewed. Dateline 24/7 also marked its fourth consecutive Q1 with double-digit, year-over-year growth. Five of Dateline 24/7’s top 10 days on record occurred in March 2025. Dateline’s showcast has now ranked #1 for its fourth consecutive year, while Dateline’s original podcasts recorded its strongest quarter on record with double-digit, year-over-year growth. Dateline’s True Crime Weekly, hosted by Andrea Canning, delivered its best quarter on record in Q1, up more than +50% versus the prior year.
