Outperforms ABC for 7 of the Last 8 Weeks and for the Second Consecutive Month
October 29, 2024 — Meet the Press with Kristen Welker (MTP) was the #1 Sunday public affairs show in the key demo this past Sunday, October 27, according to Nielsen panel data. MTP is ranked #1 for the 2024-2025 broadcast season among viewers aged 25-54.
MTP saw over 9 million video views on digital platforms in October, reaching 225,000 hours viewed last week.
#1 in the Key Demo This Past Sunday
MTP was #1 in the demo most valued by news advertisers, averaging 491,000 viewers in A25-54 and outperforming ABC’s This Week by +98,000 (+25%) and CBS’s Face the Nation by +64,000 (+15%).
MTP has led ABC in the demo for seven of the last eight weeks and posted its closest total viewer gap vs. CBS in nearly a year. Compared to last week, MTP grew its demo lead over ABC and improved its competitive positions across-the-board vs. CBS, which continues to rate for just 30 minutes of its hour-long broadcast.
Sunday’s broadcast featured interviews with Republican Vice Presidential Nominee Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt). It averaged 2.470 million total viewers, trailing ABC by just 1% and CBS by 7%.
Outperforms ABC for Second Straight Month
In the month of October, MTP outperformed ABC for the second straight month in the key demo, averaging 451,000 viewers among A25-54 viewers.
Sees Over 9M Views on Digital in October
MTP reached 9M video views across digital platforms in October, averaging over 100,000 viewers of the full episode on YouTube each week. YouTube viewers watched an average of 32 minutes per episode.
Last week, MTP reached 2.8M video views and 225,000 hours viewed across platforms with 167,000 YouTube viewers.
Undefeated Streak in Washington, D.C. Continues in October
MTP was once again #1 in total viewers in the influential Washington, D.C. market, where it has never lost a month among total viewers.
