Tonight: NBC News Debuts New Documentary Short ‘Born Into Gaza’

Follows a Mother’s Journey to Give Birth in Gaza Amid the Ongoing Israel-Hamas War

Premieres on ‘Top Story with Tom Llamas’ Tonight, Tuesday, Oct. 15; Available On-Demand On NBCNews.com and Peacock on Wednesday, Oct. 16

Oct. 15, 2024 – Premiering tonight on Top Story with Tom Llamas on NBC News NOW at 7 p.m. ET, NBC News debuts Born into Gaza. In the documentary short, NBC News Digital Docs goes inside the last functioning maternity ward in southern Gaza to examine what it’s like to give birth in the region nearly a year after the Israel-Hamas war began. 

NBC News’ team on the ground in Gaza documents Islam Al-Qanou’s journey to the hospital alone, following along as she gives birth by emergency C-section to her son Abdel Hadi Al-Qanou and as the pair travel through the rubble of Khan Yunis to reunite with their displaced family.

The documentary will also be available on-demand beginning tomorrow, Oct. 16 on NBCNews.com and Peacock.
