Outperforms ABC for Fifth Week in a Row
October 8, 2024 — Meet the Press with Kristen Welker (MTP) once again outperformed its competitors in the key news demo on Sunday morning, finishing the week as the #1 Sunday show among A25-54 viewers on Oct. 6, 2024.
MTP has outperformed ABC’s This Week in the demo for five weeks in a row.
#1 in the Key Demo this Past Sunday
MTP was the #1 Sunday public affairs show in the demo most valued by news advertisers this past Sunday, averaging 406,000 viewers and leading ABC’s This Week by +90,000 (+28%).
This is the third consecutive week in which MTP has won the demo — the first 3-week demo win streak for the program since Nov. 2022. MTP has outperformed ABC among that audience for five consecutive weeks.
Sunday’s broadcast featured exclusive interviews with Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) and Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), plus new polling insights from NBC News national political correspondent Steve Kornacki. The broadcast averaged 2.120 million total viewers. CBS’s Face the Nation was retitled.
Audiences Watch Hundreds of Thousands of Hours Across Digital Platforms
In addition to a string of substantial linear ratings wins over the course of the year, MTP has maintained its digital dominance in the Sunday public affairs space. Last week, MTP saw 1.5 million video views across digital platforms with viewers consuming over 200,000 hours of content. Sunday’s full episode garnered 80,000 viewers on YouTube.
#1 in the Nation’s Capital for Nine Years Straight
MTP once again ranked #1 in the demo and in total viewers in the influential Washington, D.C. market, beating the competition combined in A25-54. MTP has not lost a Sunday in total viewers in the market in over nine years.
