Ranks as #1 Afternoon News Program on All of TV Season-to-Date
June 18, 2024 — NBC News Daily is the #1 afternoon news program on all of television in the key demo last week during its timeslot, according to Nielsen Media Research.
NBC News Daily averages 213,000 A25-54 viewers, leading GMA3 by +1,000 (+0.4%), and marking NBC News Daily’s sixth key demo win in the last eight weeks. Week-over-week, NBC News Daily was the only program up, increasing by +4% (+7,000). Versus the prior year, NBC News Daily was also the only program up, increasing by +3% (+6,000).
Season-to-date, NBC News Daily is the #1 afternoon news program on all of TV in the key A25-54 demo, ahead of GMA3. NBC News Daily also leads all CNN and Fox News hours in both the key demo and total viewers during the 12-4 p.m. daypart.
Averaging 1.08 million total viewers, NBC News Daily is the only broadcast to increase total viewers versus the same week last season with +4% (+45,000) and narrowing its gap with GMA3 by 44%.
NBC News Daily reaches even more viewers on its NBC News NOW streaming platform. Kate Snow, Morgan Radford, Vicky Nguyen and Zinhle Essamuah anchor from 12-4 p.m. ET on NBC News NOW, and depending on location, U.S. markets receive one of the four hours on their local NBC broadcast stations.
