Outperforms ABC in the Demo for 5th Consecutive Month 

Jan. 30, 2024 — Meet the Press with Kristen Welker (MTP) was the #1 Sunday public affairs show in the key demo this past Sunday, Jan. 28, according to data from Nielsen Media Research. 

MTP has outperformed ABC among A25-54 viewers for five straight months and on 10 of the last 11 normally rated Sundays. It has outperformed ABC in total viewers for three straight months.

In January on digital platforms, MTP saw its 7th straight month with year-over-year growth exceeding 40 percent.

Continues Month-over-Month Gains over ABC

In January, MTP outperformed ABC’s This Week for the 5th consecutive month among A25-54 viewers and the 3rdconsecutive month among total viewers. 

Comparted to December, MTP improved on its A25-54 lead over ABC by 27% and its total viewer lead by 31%. 

The show also improved its competitive positions vs. ABC across the board compared to the previous year. 

#1 in the Key Demo this Past Sunday

MTP ranked #1 in the demo most valued by news advertisers this past Sunday, averaging 473,000 viewers in the A25-54 demo and leading ABC’s This Week by +12,000 (+3%) and CBS’s Face the Nation by +10,000 (+2%). 

MTP has outperformed ABC on 10 of the last 11 normally rated Sundays. 

Sunday’s broadcast featured exclusive interviews with 2024 Republican presidential candidate and former UN Amb. Nikki Haley and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.). The broadcast averaged 2.627 million total viewers, leading ABC by +79,000 (+3%)  and trailing CBS’s Face the Nation, which continues to rate for just 30 minutes of its hour-long program, by just 4%. 

7 Straight Months of 40+ Percent YoY Growth on Digital

In January, MTP is on track to see a 48% year-over-year growth on digital platforms, marking the 7th straight month with YoY growth exceeding 40%. 

This past Sunday, MTP posted 226,000 viewers on YouTube and audiences watched 128,000 hours of MTP content across platforms last week. 

#1 in the Nation’s Capital for More than 8 Years

MTP beat the competition combined in A25-54 and total viewers in the nation’s capital this past Sunday, continuing an 8-year streak in which it has not lost a single Sunday in Washington, D.C. MTP has never lost a month in total viewers in the market.
