‘Dateline’ Wins Across-the-Board for Q3, Topping ABC’s 20/20
Over 31 Billion Minutes of ‘Dateline’ Consumed Across TV & Digital
‘Dateline’ 24/7 Streaming Network Pacing to Be Strongest Quarter on Record
Sept. 20, 2023 – Dateline NBC is the #1 most-watched newsmagazine and true-crime franchise across all of TV during the 3rd quarter, with over 66 million total viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research. Dateline also won across-the-board, beating ABC’s 20/20 for Q3.
Additionally, over 31 billion minutes of Dateline were consumed across TV and digital platforms, which includes NBC, cable, broadcast syndication and its streaming network, Dateline 24/7, which is pacing to have its strongest quarter on record.
The last two quarters have been Dateline’s best on record across digital. In Q3, Dateline is pacing to deliver 190 million video starts, up +80% versus the prior year.
Additionally, Dateline’s chart-topping showcast, which features broadcasts as podcast episodes, is pacing to have one of its top three quarters on record with more than 90 million downloads for the sixth consecutive quarter. Dateline NBC continues to rank as the #1 True Crime podcast, according to Podtrac.
Announced this week, Dateline NBC correspondent Keith Morrison will host an all-new true-crime podcast, Murder in Apartment 12, debuting Tuesday, September 26.
