Reaches 9 million views on digital platforms in October, posting strongest month since March

November 1, 2022 — With one week until the 2022 midterm elections, Meet the Press with Chuck Todd (MTP) was the #1 most-watched Sunday public affairs show in the key demo this past Sunday, October 30, according to data from Nielsen Media Research. 

Meet the Press also topped the competition in the key demo for the month of October.

Full episodes of the Sunday broadcast in October averaged 231,000 viewers on YouTube and MTP saw nine million views across digital platforms, making for the brand’s strongest digital month since March. It also posted its best week on digital since April, totaling 2.7 million views across platforms.

#1 in Key Demo in October and This Past Sunday

This past Sunday, MTP averaged 565,000 viewers in the demo most-valued by news advertisers on Sunday, topping the competition among viewers aged 25-54. MTP led ABC’s This Week by +85,000 (+18%) and CBS’s Face the Nation by +68,000 (+14%). 

Sunday saw MTP’s largest total viewer audience in more than six months and MTP is the only Sunday public affairs program to be up across-the-board over the prior season. 

Sunday’s broadcast featured exclusive interviews with Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) Gov. Chris Sununu (R-N.H.). The program averaged 2.612 million total viewers, leading ABC by 8,000 viewers (+0.3%) and just three percent behind CBS, which continues to rate for only 30 minutes of its hour-long show. 

An additional 359,000 viewers and 161,000 A25-54 viewers watched the Sunday program through a rebroadcast on NBC. 

MTP Sees Best Month on Digital Since March, Best Week Since April 

MTP saw more than nine million video views across digital platforms in the Month of October, the strongest showing since March 2022. On YouTube, full episodes of the Sunday broadcast averaged 231,000 viewers.

This past Sunday’s episode saw 220,000 viewers on YouTube and posted 2.7 million video views across digital platforms, its best week since April 2022. 

91 Consecutive Months as the #1 Most-Watched Sunday Show in Washington, D.C.

MTP continues its dominance of the influential Washington, D.C. market. It has not lost a Sunday in total viewers in the nation’s capital in 91 consecutive months, well over seven and a half years.
