September 7, 2022 – This Friday, September 9 at 10 p.m. ET/9 p.m. CT, NBC News Chief Foreign Correspondent Richard Engel will host On Assignment – Ukraine: The Search for Justice on MSNBC. The hour-long special will feature Engel’s extensive on-the-ground coverage from inside Ukraine as he reports on Russian war crimes that have plagued the country since February, leaving innocent civilians traumatized.

During the special, Engel will tell stories of the war as seen through the eyes of resilient Ukrainians who have survived Russian atrocities. He will piece together the facts behind the murder of a young woman by a Russian soldier and meet a 9-year-old boy who reunited with his family after the brutal attack on Mariupol. The broadcast will also include highlights from Engel’s exclusive interview with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Friday’s special is the latest installment in the award-winning On Assignment series, which draws on Engel’s decades of original field reporting that brings together in-depth coverage and interviews from across the world.
