  • Nightly News is the #5 most-watched program in all of TV last week in total viewers, averaging 6.572 million total viewers, excluding specials, sports & syndication
  • Nightly News marks its most narrow total viewer gap with ABC in three weeks (since 4/4/22)
  • In week over week, Nightly News narrows the total viewership gap vs. ABC by 8%
  • Nightly News is in its 9th consecutive month of continuing its upward trend of improving in total viewers vs. ABC, cutting the year-over-year viewership gap by 3% during the most recent week
  • Season to date, Nightly News improves its competitive position versus ABC by 19% in total viewers, by 16% in the A25-54 demo and by 34% in the A18-49 demo compared to the same time period last year

  • Averages 6.572 million total viewers, topping CBS by +1.945 million (+42%)
    • Marks most narrow total viewer gap vs. ABC in three weeks (since 4/4/22)
    • In week over week, Nightly News, narrows the total viewership gap vs. ABC by 8%
    • In year over year, Nightly News narrows the total viewership gap vs. ABC by 3%, in its eighth consecutive month of its upward trend of improving in total viewers
  • Averages 1.050 million A25-54 viewers, leading CBS by +346,000 (+49%)
  • Averages 729,000 A18-49 viewers, beating CBS by +234,000 (+47%)
  • Across digital, Nightly News saw 14.5 million video views and 1.5 million hours viewed on & off platforms, including clips and full episodes
  • On YouTube, full episodes reached 830,000 views and 657,000 viewers

Ratings now reflect the addition of Out of Home (OOH) viewership that began being measured on Aug. 31,2020 across only 44 markets tracked by Nielsen Media Research.

NBC Nightly News, World News Tonight and CBS Evening News’ ratings are comprised of telecasts with regular titling and include overnight airings on owned stations. World News Tonight’s ratings also include 3:30pm airings in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
