November 9, 2021 – Dateline NBC will debut all six episodes of Keith Morrison’s new original podcast, The Thing About Helen & Olga, Tuesday, November 16, marking the first time listeners will be able to binge a Dateline podcast on its launch day.
During the series, Morrison will take viewers inside the story of two elderly women, Helen and Olga, who open their hearts and wallets to down-and-out men in Los Angeles. After one of the men is killed by a hit-and-run driver — and then another one suffers the same fate — investigators uncover a horrifying plot that stuns even the most seasoned detectives.

The Thing About Helen & Olga will also mark the first continuation in Dateline’s The Thing About franchise, following the #1 Morrison-hosted podcast The Thing About Pam. The Thing About Pam, which has been downloaded over 18 million times since its September 2019 launch, is also the inspiration for an upcoming NBC series starring two-time Oscar-winning actress Renée Zellweger. The scripted series is a collaboration between Blumhouse Television, NBC News Studios and Zellweger’s Big Picture Co.
Dateline’s new podcast will be the fourth original series from Morrison, after previously hosting The Thing about Pam, Mommy Doomsday and Killer Role. It comes on the heels of Dateline’s showcast, broadcasts available as podcast episodes, hitting half a billion downloads. Apple also recently named Dateline as one of its top ten free channels.
