New Hour-Long Newscast Streams Mondays Through Fridays at 7 PM ET, Hosted By NBC News Anchor and Senior National Correspondent, Tom Llamas
September 15, 2021 – Beginning Monday, September 20, NBC News NOW will debut its first daily primetime streaming program, hosted by NBC News anchor and senior national correspondent, Tom Llamas. Top Story with Tom Llamas will stream 7-8pm ET Monday through Friday on Peacock, NBCUniversal’s streaming service, as well as on The Roku Channel, YouTube TV, YouTube, Fubo, Xumo, Pluto, Tubi and NBC News’ apps on Roku, Fire TV and Apple TV.
The new show will provide a comprehensive and dynamic playlist of the day’s biggest news and will tap into NBC News’ unparalleled original journalism and access to reporters and correspondents all over the world, including from CNBC, MSNBC, Sky News and Telemundo. Llamas will take viewers on a fast-paced and visual journey to the front lines of the story, covering breaking news and major domestic and international headlines from around the globe.

The high-energy program will explore topics, places and people viewers don’t always get to see, with powerful videos, impactful interviews and immersive storytelling. Top Story will also explore stories on race, social justice, personal finance and more, with a strong emphasis on issues affecting Hispanic Americans. One of the show’s recurring franchises, “The Americas,” is a daily segment dedicated to stories about Hispanic Americans and Latin America.

This launch follows a recent announcement by NBCU News Group Chairman Cesar Conde on the organization’s significant streaming and digital investment, adding new original programming and hundreds of jobs to NBC News NOW and across the NBCU News Group Digital organization. Additional upcoming programming on NBC News NOW will include primetime shows with Hallie Jackson and Joshua Johnson.
Since launching in 2019, NBC News NOW has grown to an average of nearly 60 million views and more than 20 million hours watched each month. The launch of Top Story with Tom Llamas is the newest addition to the streaming service’s growing slate of programming, which includes Morning News NOW with Joe Fryer and Savannah Sellers, NBC News NOW Live with Aaron Gilchrist and Morgan Radford, NBC News NOW Live with Alison Morris and Chuck Todd’s weekly show – Meet The Press Reports – which will debut its third season later this Fall. NBC News NOW also hosts various special reports, with recent programming including Can You Hear Us Now?, TransAmerica, Cuba’s Fight for Freedom: Patria Y Vida, The Racism Virus, Planet 2020, Return to Broadway and more.
